- 8:00 AM DAY 1 - MARRAKECH-HIGH ATLAS-KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU-DADES GORGES
After an initial transfer from your hotel or Riad to Marrakech, we will pass through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka pass which is about 2260 meters above sea level. Several stops are planned during the journey to admire the spectacular views and panorama. We will then visit the ARGAN oil producing cooperative where, not only will we be able to witness the production process, but we will also be able to discover the many benefits that this oil can give to the human body. Our journey will then continue south for about 6 km until we reach the fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah, declared not only a UNESCO heritage site, but also used as a location for very famous world movies such as ”The Gladiator,” ”The Jewel of the Nile,” and ”Sahara.” After a good lunch in the citadel, we will continue our journey to Ouarzazate also known as the ”Gateway to the Sahara,” where the great Kasbah of Taourirt is located. We will then continue our tour to the Valley of Roses passing through the oases of Skoura and Boumalne until we reach the Dades Gorges, where dinner and overnight stay are planned.
- 8:00 AM DAY 2 - DADES GORGES-TODRA GORGES-DUNES OF MERZOUGA (DESERT)
After breakfast we will move toward Merzouga through a special trail that will allow us to observe the gorges from a strategic viewpoint, and then continue our journey on a road dotted with beautiful Kasbahs that are different from each other. After several stops to admire the landscape, we will finally reach the Todra Gorges (300m), a unique place famous for being a true climbers’ paradise. Here we will make a stop to explore the site and have lunch with friends, we will then cross the desert and reach the Dunes of Merzouga where we will be offered tea and hospitality by the local inhabitants. Once we left our luggage at the hotel and after making a short stop to admire the sunset, aboard a dromedary caravan we will reach the Haimas camp in about an hour. Before dinner we will have a chance to climb the dunes near the camp and then have tea in the serene and peaceful typical climate of the area. We will finally spend the night in a ’haima sleeping under the stars.
- 6:00 AM DAY 3 - MERZOUGA-DRAA VALLEY-ANTI ATLAS-OUARZAZATE-MARRAKECH
It is important to wake up early in order not to miss the sunrise before returning to the hotel with camels. After a fresh shower and a good breakfast, we will resume our journey passing through both Rissani, one of the oldest cities in Morocco, and the arid pre-desert landscapes until we reach the Draa Valley. Here we will also be able to admire the Draa River, known to be the longest river in Morocco; Indeed, it crosses the entire country all the way to Mauritania. We will then reach Ouarzazate again where we will have lunch and in the afternoon through the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech.
