8 – Day Tour to Fès, Sahara And Waterfalls

This will be a day dedicated to the discovery of what is regarded as the most intellectual and cultural city in the kingdom. Indeed, numerous monuments can be visited here: Medersas (the Koranic schools),Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, Souks, Fes El-Jedid and the Karaouine Mosque (the world’s first university).

After a good breakfast, we will leave Fes for Merzouga. We will cross the Middle and High Atlas Mountains via Ziz Valley, where the beautiful and vast oasis full of palm trees will bring you into contact with the typical vegetation of southern Morocco. Arrival in Merzouga, also known as the ”Gateway to the Desert,” is scheduled for the evening. Overnight stay will instead be at one of our hotels, a traditional Kasbah located at the foot of the dunes of Merzouga.

We will wake up early in the morning when the temperatures are still low so as to facilitate our departure on board our 4×4: we will start from the Dayet Srji lake, full of nice flamingos, until we arrive at the house of a musician’s family of Gnawa or Bambaras music, descendants of the slaves who came from black Africa. We will then arrive at the dunes by traveling along the same stretch of the Paris-Dakar Road, and we will also have the opportunity to get in touch with some semi-nomadic families who will explain how they live in the special conditions of the desert. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will then return to the riad where we will abandon our 4×4 to begin a new adventure. Camel’s ride will take us into the heart of the desert to witness an unforgettable sunset. Dinner and overnight stay are planned in a ’Haimas in the middle of the desert.

We will wake up early in the morning to admire the spectacular sunrise in the desert; we will then return to Merzouga where we will leave our camels and, after a good rejuvenating breakfast, we will take the 4×4 in the direction of Rissani where we can visit the legendary local market. After visiting Rissani we will continue our tour passing through several villages such as Efaunf, Jorf, Tinjdad, and then stop at the Todra Gorges, where dinner and overnight stay are planned in a local Riad.

After breakfast we will all visit together the Todra Gorge, whose walls narrow and rise ever more abruptly; this is surely one of Morocco’s most famous natural attractions. Later we will move to Ouzoud Falls. Dinner and overnight stay are planned in the Riad.

After a hearty breakfast, we will visit the magnificent Ouzoud Waterfalls, the largest in North Africa, after which we will travel to Fes via Khnifra. Dinner and overnight stay are provided in the Riad.

After breakfast, we will take care of your transfer to the airport according to the agreed time
