  1. 7:00 AM Day 1: MARRAKECH- AITBEN HADDOU-OUARZAZATE

Departure from Marrakech is scheduled for 8:00 AM, we will arrange to pick you up from your accommodation and then we will leave together for Ouarzazate. On the way, we will cross the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2260 m). Afterward, we will make a small detour to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a wonderful fortified town built approximately 800 years ago. Moreover, several famous movies have been filmed here, for example, ”Gladiator” or ” Kingdom of Heaven.” Once we finish this short visit, we will head to Ouarzazate, where we will have the opportunity to visit the actual film studios. Here we will spend our first night quietly.

  2. 8:00 AM Day 2: OUARZAZATE- AGDEZ- DRAA VALLEY- TAZARINE- MHARECH GORES

After a hearty breakfast and a visit to the Kasbah Taourirt, we will depart in the direction of Zagora crossing the Atlas Mountains and passing through the Tizi n’ Tichka mountain pass (at 1,600 meters above sea level). We will then enter the Draa Valley, within which we will be able to see several villages and come into contact with the local inhabitants. Next, we will leave behind the N’kob, Tarazine, and Alnif villages in order to reach the Mharech Gorges. To get to this wonderful place we will pass through several roads that are also used during the famous Dakar Rally. Our day will end by spending the night in a Riad surrounded by nowhere.

  3. 8:00 AM Day 3: MHARECH- RAMLIA OASIS- OUZINA DUNES- MERZOURGA

On the third day continuing along the Dakar Rally track, we will pass through some more isolated villages, uads (dry riverbeds), several oases, and the Ouzina dunes. Along the way, we will also visit the village of Khamlia where the inhabitants are descendants of the ancient slaves who arrived from Africa. Here you will be able to listen to some good folk music. From Khamlia we will then continue to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, known in the world for being the highest in Morocco. Overnight stay is in a hotel (these are not always actually hotels; they can also be Riads or Jaimans. This should be noted as there are differences between the different types of accommodation).

  4. 8:30 AM Day 4: MERZOUGA- ERG CHEBBI - MERZOURGA

After a hearty breakfast, we will have the opportunity to drive another section of the Paris-Dakar Rally and thus come into contact with the nomadic peoples of the desert. With these last, we will be able to have tea and visit fantastic oases where very famous films have been shot, such as ”Sahara,” with the beautiful Penelope Cruz. We will then visit the town ”Dei Neri,” so called because of the slave trade that used to be brought here from Sudan. After eating, we will leave our 4×4s to continue our journey on dromedaries. We will then reach the desert dunes where we will be able to contemplate a sunset that we will hardly forget once we return home. This will be a very special night, we will in fact sleep in the dunes in nomadic tents (called Jaimas) as if we were real Berbers. Here we will also enjoy a typical Berber dinner while listening to good music under a magnificent starry sky. We assure you that the overnight stay in the Jaimas will be unforgettable.

  5. 5:30 AM Day 5: MERZOURGA- RISSANI-THE GULES OF TODRA-VALLEY OF THE DADES

After witnessing the magnificent spectacle of sunrise in the desert we will return to the city, again on our dromedaries. A short stop at the hotel is planned to freshen up and relax for a few minutes before departing in the direction of Rissani, known to be Morocco’s first imperial city. We will then proceed to Erfound, which is rich in black stones and marine fossils, before arriving at the Tafilalet Oasis (a fossil factory can also be visited if you wish). We will finally visit the Roda Gorges and reach the Dades Valley, where an overnight stay is planned.

  6. 8:00 AM Day 6: DADES VALLEY- VALLEY OF THE ROSE-SKOURA-MARRAKECH

We will leave the Dades Valley behind as we continue along the ”Thousand Kasbahs” route. We will then cross the wonderful Valley of the Roses to arrive at the oasis of Skoura, where the most famous Kasbah in the area is located. Once here we will begin our return journey to Marrakech.
